The recent arrest of Diddy for a variety of alleged crimes, including sex trafficking, has rocked the world. The most explosive allegation against the musical mogul is that he held “freak-off” sex parties in which men and women were allegedly forced to perform sexual acts for Diddy’s amusement. In light of those allegations, pretty much everyone who has ever attended a Diddy party is under an intense spotlight.
That’s a problem because a ton of celebs have attended these parties. Now, it’s worth noting that there’s a difference between Diddy’s regular parties and these alleged freak-offs, so someone simply attending a party doesn’t make them guilty. Nonetheless, the sheer number of athletes who have partied with Diddy leaves us wondering just who knows more than they are letting on.
Which athletes are we talking about? Keep reading to discover the biggest names in athletics who have been confirmed as having attended Diddy’s parties!
Serena Williams
Serena Williams is a great example of an athlete who once hung with Diddy and now wants nothing to do with him. Back in 2003, she attended his VMA After Hours Party in New York City and seemed to have a good time. In fact, you can see in the photo above that posed next to the controversial singer and looked quite happy.
Now, though, she seems even happier that Diddy got arrested. On Instagram, there was a news post about the mogul’s arrest, and Williams replied with something a bit surprising. “And now I hope justice is finally served.” Over 20 years later, it seems she has no love left for her one-time party companion.
Floyd Mayweather
Some celeb athletes are much closer to Diddy than Williams ever was. For example, boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather isn’t just someone who has partied with Diddy. He is also someone who seems to be close friends with the other man, as evidenced by Diddy coming to boxing matches and buying ringside seats whenever possible.
Because of their tight bond, Mayweather has been hesitant to speak out against Diddy, and he made some waves after his recent comments on the Pivot Podcast. There, he described how people shouldn’t rush to judge, saying “P Diddy’s business is P Diddy’s business.” Things got pretty gross when the boxer mentioned how he would feel if his own daughter was part of one of these wild parties. “Even if that happened to my daughter, I would be hurt but that’s a choice that my daughter made.”
Wow. Father of the year, huh?
Kobe Bryant
We don’t like to speak ill of the dead, so we won’t engage in any of the speculation about what Kobe Bryant did or didn’t know about Diddy’s infamous parties. But we do know that the late, great basketball star attended these gatherings and was generally tight with the musician. In fact, Bryant attended Diddy’s birthday party in 2020 only a month before his tragic death, posting a photo to Instagram with the caption “Happy 50th birthday, Puff!”
As for Diddy, he seemed very moved by Bryant’s death and spoke about it while performing at Shaquille O’Neal’s “Shaq’s Fun House” event in sunny Miami. He dedicated “I’ll Be Missing You” to the deceased basketball legend and went on to describe how Bryant has been and continues to be his inspiration when he is facing struggles. We can only wonder if Bryant is still serving as inspiration now that Diddy is in jail.
LeBron James
Speaking of basketball legends, there may be no current athlete in the game more famous than LeBron James. He is so talented on the court that fans have dubbed him “King James.” He also loves to party and has a history of hanging out with Diddy. Recently, though, unearthed footage threatened to put the king in a “royal” bind.
Back in 2020, the two appeared on an Instagram live and the basketball star uttered some now-infamous words: “ain’t no party like a Diddy party!” Now that we know just how naughty these parties allegedly were, many can’t help but ponder if LeBron James knew about these freak-off parties all along.
Kevin Durant
LeBron James isn’t the only current NBA star who has been in and out of Diddy’s orbit. Kevin Durant is someone who hung out with the musician before and had nothing but positive things to say about him. Back in 2017, Durant named Diddy as one of many people who has served as a personal inspiration to him in times of doubt and difficulty.
Back in 2021, they transformed their friendship into a partnership by mutually investing in a start-up company designed to create fully electric boats. In spite of their partnership (or perhaps because of it), Durant is one of many who have been tight with Diddy before and now refuse to comment on his legal woes.
