Embarrassing Times Kim Kardashian Was Called Out for Bad Photoshops

Let’s be real: few celebrities are quite as fake as Kim Kardashian. The only reason the public learned her name was due to a “leaked” sex tape, with many later alleging that Kim’s own mother leaked the tape to help launch her career. But the popularity (and notoriety) of that video helped launch Kim and the rest of the Kardashians as a full-blown lifestyle brand.

In other words, Kim understands better than most that image is everything. And since she is very active on Instagram, Kim goes out of her way to make herself look good in every single image.

Often, that means using Photoshop to touch up her images. Unfortunately for Kim, fans and haters alike waste no time catching the celeb’s worth Photoshop fails and calling her out on them. And here are just a few of the times that Kim’s Photoshop failures were mocked all across the internet!

Where’d the belly button go?

In April 2022, Kim Kardashian posted a photo showing off her body while wearing a new set of Skims. This was meant to be a promotional image showing off this brand of high-waisted underwear.

However, nobody paid much attention to the underwear because they were looking at Kim’s stomach. Take a closer look: she managed to Photoshop out her own belly button! Instead of making herself look better, she made both herself and the brand look foolish.

Mistaken identity

Using Photoshop to touch up your image is more art than skill. If you’re not careful, you may end up making yourself look borderline unrecognizable.

This is a lesson that Kim Kardashian learned the hard way after she posted this image in August 2019. Once again, we were supposed to focus on a product: in this case, it was her KKW Beauty Collection. However, fans noticed that Kim Photoshopped her own face so much that she looked more like Toni Braxton.

While this was definitely a Photoshop fail, it’s unintentionally hilarious. After all, the KKW Beauty Collection was inspired by the 1990s. And it doesn’t get much more 90’s than Toni Braxton!

Erasing her own muscles

When people Photoshop their own bodies, it gives you an interesting look inside their brains. For example, we can see exactly what Kim Kardashian finds unattractive about herself.

For example, check out this photo she posted in August 2022 as part of her Beats collaboration. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Kim had Photoshopped out her trapezius muscle. Furthermore, she does this on a regular basis, which means we won’t be dubbing her a “trap queen” anytime soon!

A curvy leg (in all the wrong ways)

Ever wish your legs looked curvier? Kim Kardashian obviously has. But this Photoshop fail proves the old saying true: you need to be careful what you wish for!

Back in January 2022, Kim once again posted photos helping to promote Skims. Once more, few people paid attention to the Skims once they noticed the Photoshop blunder. She tried to alter her legs and this led to an artificial warping effect behind her knee. 

This fail was particularly groan-worthy because it made it look like Kim’s right leg skips leg day every single week!

Curve fail, part two

Kim Kardashian has many fine qualities, but she seems to be a slow learner. For instance, one month after her Skims curve fiasco, she managed to create a similar blunder while posting photos from her home gym.

She clearly wanted this to be an inspirational post, right down to the caption: “chin up or the crown slips.” However, the weird curving effect on the exercise machine behind her made it clear that Kim was trying to give herself more curves. All she ended up giving herself, though, was another Photoshop “L.”

Accidental extra toe

Some Photoshop gaffes are hard to spot unless you have a real eye for detail. Other times, though, Kim’s failures are obvious to just about everyone. Especially when she sprouts an extra toe!

In the fall of 2019, Kim Kardashian posted photos to Instagram where she posed alongside Kylie Jenner for their perfume collaboration. And while the perfume may smell sweet, Kim’s Photoshop skills clearly stink. After all, she managed to give herself and her sister six toes on their feet!

Too much sun, too much Photoshop

Once in a blue moon, Kim Kardashian posts pictures that are meant to look spontaneous. For example, this 2019 photo of herself on the beach when she was vacationing in the Turks and Caicos. The photo seems to give out the vibe that Kim doesn’t have a care in the world.

However, she always cares about trying to make herself look better. And this led to another prominent Photoshop fail. Just look at the weird white stripe through her right arm. Her right wrist also looks like the bones inside of her hand were liquefied. That’s only fitting: according to Photoshop gurus across the internet, Kim screwed up when trying to use the liquefy tool on her own image!
