Here’s an interesting question: what kind of plastic surgery do you think is most common among celebrities? Believe it or not, the answer isn’t “boob job,” even though more than a few celebrities suddenly pop up looking much bustier than ever before. The answer isn’t a Brazilian butt lift, either, although you can probably name a few celebs who suddenly start rocking a much larger derriere.
No, the most common bit of celebrity plastic surgery is the nose job. This procedure is easier than most, but it can dramatically change the appearance of someone’s face. Sometimes, that’s a good thing, transforming virtual nobodies into famous movie stars. Other times, a bad nose job can ruin a famous face, killing careers practically overnight. Which celebs have gotten the most obvious nose jobs, and what did they look like before going under the knife? Keep reading to find out!
Cardi B

Unlike many celebrities, Cardi B has been very upfront about getting a nose job. In fact, she revealed that she had always wanted to get one even before she became famous, thanks to banger songs like “WAP” and “Bodak Yellow.” Ironically, that fame put her in something of a bind because she was hesitant to change her appearance after becoming a celebrity. Because of this, she tried a kind of compromise where she simply got fillers, thinking they offered a more natural way for her to trim down her nose.
Unfortunately, Cardi B decided that the fillers didn’t work and actually made her nose look bigger than before. After deciding she hated both her old look and her new look, the singer decided to take the plunge and actually get the nose job she had been craving for so many years. Afterward, she had no regrets whatsoever, and she spoke glowingly about her procedure in an interview with Jason Lee. “I look great,” she raved about her new and improved appearance.
Jennifer Grey

As we said before, nose jobs are the most common elective surgeries among celebrities because they are low risk (these procedures rarely go wrong, and they don’t take long to recover from) and high reward (they can change someone from having an above-average face to having the face of a movie star). Still, many celebs hesitate to get a nose job because of one person: Jennifer Grey, the star of films such as Dirty Dancing and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
She simply wanted to tweak her appearance, but her first nose job required surgical correction. Afterwards, she looked completely different, and even her closest friends and family could barely recognize her. Subsequently, her acting career dried up because she no longer looked like the movie star everyone had fallen in love with. This is why Jennifer Grey has become a cautionary tale among celebrities: no matter how much they want to get a nose job, these celebs worry that they, too, might become unrecognizable and lose their careers.
Khloe Kardashian

You want to hear something morbidly funny? The primary reason you even know Khloe Kardashian’s name is that she starred on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Of course, the biggest star on that show was Kim Kardashian, and her sisters (including Khloe) had to effectively “keep up” with Kim’s meteoric rise to fame. These gals suddenly had to look their best, whether the cameras were rolling or not. Khloe eventually decided she had to go under the knife to look her best, getting a nose job that dramatically changed her appearance.
Interestingly, a nose job is the only elective procedure that Khloe Kardashian has admitted to having. Nonetheless, everyone agrees that she looks completely different now than she did when she first became a star. The general consensus among fans is that she has likely had several other procedures, but Khloe has maintained that all she did was lose weight and get on Botox.
Respectfully, Khloe, those of us who haven’t had a nose job have no trouble sniffing out a fib!
Kaley Cuoco

Kaley Cuoco is another celebrity who wanted to get plastic surgery after she became a household name. Arguably, the pressure was even more intense for her than it was for Khloe Kardashian. While Khloe’s sisters took some of the pressure off her looking good, Cuoco was, for the first few years, the only female lead on The Big Bang Theory. That show eventually became one of the most popular sitcoms in the country, and she had the eyes of millions on her each week.
Consequently, she ended up getting both a nose job and a boob job. The breast enhancement is, arguably, more obvious, and something she did to appeal to her legions of male fans. The nose job, meanwhile, was something of a last resort: like many women, Cuoco first tried to change her appearance with Botox. But it tightened her face so much that she couldn’t land funny punchlines on The Big Bang Theory, so she opted for the nose job as a way of improving her appearance without hurting her as a comedian.
Jennifer Aniston

There’s no shortage of strange rumors surrounding Jennifer Aniston, but her nose surgery isn’t one of them. In a 2007 interview with People (as reported by Today), she openly shared that the procedure was done to fix a deviated septum rather than for cosmetic reasons. The results, she said, were life-changing—she was finally able to sleep comfortably, describing it as one of the best decisions she had ever made.
As for maintaining her appearance over time, Aniston has expressed caution. In a conversation with Yahoo, she referred to injectables like Botox as something that can easily become overused. That said, she’s more open to newer approaches, revealing to The Wall Street Journal that she supports weekly peptide treatments, calling them a promising direction for the future.
