This Twin-Twin Marriage Story Is Stranger Than Fiction!

There’s always something a bit magical about running into identical twins. After all, the idea of a twin brother or sister is such a trope of TV shows like soap operas that it can be wild to remember that yes, people in real life sometimes share the same face. But two sets of identical twins ended up shocking the world because they shared much more than a face…they shared, in fact, the exact same taste in men!

Briana and Brittany Deane are identical twin sisters from Delaware who fell in love with two identical twin brothers, Josh and Jeremy Salyers. Soon, the foursome was married, and they have now started having children that, incredibly, look exactly like each other. And all of this has led to a wild family dynamic where everyone lives and works together as one big family.

How did the chance meeting between two sets of twins take place, and what has this unconventional family been up to lately? Keep reading to find out!

A meeting that changed the twins’ lives

Many of the details about Briana and Brittany Deane’s lives are so wild they could have come directly out of a movie. For example, everyone wants to know where they met the identical twins that they would end up marrying. It turns out they met Josh and Jeremy Salyers in Twinsburg, Ohio, at the appropriately named Twins Day Festival.

This event was all about helping twins meet up with each other and find friends. Some found more than friends, though: as reported by ABC News, the boys realized they were in love with the Deane sisters. As for the women, they recall everyone just instantly hitting it off: “Jeremy and I really were attracted to each other and started gravitating toward each other,” Briana said. “And Brittany and Josh started. So it was like perfectly kind of paired off.”

A whirlwind romance and a double proposal

To this day, many people like to debate about the right time to get married. How long should couples date, they wonder, before it’s time to get very serious? As mentioned before, Josh and Jeremy Salyers were convinced they had fallen in love with Briana and Brittany Deane only 15 minutes after meeting them. Therefore, they didn’t mind popping the question much, much sooner than other young men would.

How soon are we talking? The brothers did a dual proposal only six months after that first meeting. In a cuteness overload moment, they even had matching engagement rings to offer the Deanes. Fortunately, the two women both said “yes,” and the foursome got together one year later to get married at the same event that brought them together: Twinsburg Twins Day Festival.

Living and working together

It’s obviously incredible to learn that two sets of identical twins met, fell in love, and got married. Based on those details alone, you might think that nothing could get stranger about the lives of this very unconventional family. However, there’s one last detail that may shock you more than anything else: the fact that this family actually lives and works together under the same roof!

How does that work, exactly? Simple: the family works at Smith Mountain Manor. This scenic location serves as a wedding venue for couples looking to get hitched, and the family business involves facilitating weddings for lucky lovers. This business (which is located in Huddleston, Virginia) also doubles as a home, allowing this growing family to live under one roof.

Embracing parenthood (and blurred lines)

In 2022, these two sets of twins began the next step in their lives by becoming parents. In typical fashion, this happened around the same time: Jett, Brittany and Josh Salyers’ son, was born in January, and Jax, Briana and Jeremy Salyers’ son, was born in April. That means for much of the year, these boys are the same age, and it turns out that’s not all they have in common.

Because their parents were identical twins, these two cousins are technically quaternary twins, which is a fancy word meaning they look exactly like each other. The parents have actually leaned into this and call the boys brothers rather than reminding them they are cousins. Such blurred lines work well for the family, but this has led to some nasty rumors the twins have had to debunk over the years.

Staying on the same page and debunking nasty rumors

From enough distance, it’s easy to see the marriage between these two sets of identical twins as a little strange. Two women who looked exactly alike married two men who lived exactly alike, and they now live together raising children who look exactly alike while referring to these young cousins as brothers. This dynamic has nonetheless worked out fine for the twins, but it has led to myths that they sometimes debunk.

As reported by ABC News, Briana Salyers said the biggest myth about their family is that they have a polyamorous situation going on, complete with spouse-swapping. She clarified that while they share finances and live under the same roof, they are still very much monogamous with one another. And regardless of the myths, she and her family will continue doing almost everything together simply because they enjoy each other’s company.
