You might not believe it, but being a movie star is sometimes a double-edged sword for celebrities. On one hand, the entire world knows and loves your famous face; on the other hand, films essentially freeze these stars in time. And that can be a bad thing when fans are shocked to discover just how different their favorite celebs look now that time has passed.

That’s particularly true of actresses whose faces and bodies we memorize thanks to their stunning beauty. In most cases, they retain that beauty, but one thing’s for sure: they no longer look like you remember them.

Which actresses are we talking about? Did your favorites make the list, and what do they look like now? Keep reading to find out!

Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn is nothing short of an American institution. She began as a TV star in the TV show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. However, it didn’t take her long to find a more lucrative career on the big screen, and she garnered an Academy Award nomination for Cactus Flower. Along the way, she also became a household name thanks to movies like Private Benjamin, Death Becomes Her, and The First Wives Club.

These days, Hawn isn’t formally retired from acting, though she hasn’t appeared in a role since 2022. At 79 years old, she now seems perfectly content to focus on spending time with her family. Chief among them is fellow movie star Kurt Russell, whom she never actually married. Nonetheless, the two have been together since 1983, and they have three beautiful children together.

Speaking of beautiful, we think Goldie Hawn is just as inspiring and lovely now as she ever has before!

Brooke Shields

Like many famous actresses, Brooke Shields began her career as a model. Specifically, she was a child model, which led to controversy because she had nude scenes as the lead role in Pretty Baby. That didn’t keep her from landing one iconic role after another, including Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. Interestingly, she actually revitalized her career by pivoting to television, serving as the Golden Globe-nominated lead in the hit NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan.

Shields is still very much a working actor, appearing in live action most recently in the 2024 film Mother of the Bride. Additionally, she has rejuvenated her career yet again by becoming a voice actor in a wide range of animated shows and even podcasts. When she’s not busy working, Shields finds time to connect with her husband, Chris Henchy, and her two children. This actress began her career at age 11; now, at the ripe age of 60, she still turns heads wherever she goes.

Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless has had quite a varied career over the years. But ask her and any of her legion of fans what the actress is best known for, and they’ll all say the same thing. She was the star of Xena: Warrior Princess, the wildly popular spinoff of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. She also found time to star in other swords-and-sandals TV shows, including Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Meanwhile, sci-fi lovers appreciated her mostly for her appearance in the rebooted Battlestar Galactica.

Lawless never lost her TV cred over the years, appearing in Ash vs Evil Dead and, more recently, in My Life Is Murder. She’s also still very much a film star, appearing most recently in Pike River. Since 1998, she’s been married to Robert Tapert and stays busy spending time with him and her three children. You may be shocked to discover that Lawless is actually 57 years old. That news is mostly shocking because she still retains most of the youthful good looks that made her an inspirational warrior princess to fans all over the world.

Claudia Schiffer

Most movie stars who begin their careers as models find much more success in Hollywood when they pivot their careers to acting. The same can’t necessarily be said for Claudia Schiffer, who achieved worldwide fame as one of the most famous supermodels of them all. When she became an actress, her career was short (less than a decade long) but memorable, beginning with Richie Rich in 1994 and ending with Love Actually in 2003. Interestingly, she was so famous as a supermodel that she simply appeared as herself in about a third of these movies!

You don’t see Schiffer in movies or photoshoots much these days, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been keeping busy. She’s had a number of fashion ventures over the years and partnered with designers and cosmetics gurus as recently as 2020. She’s actually had a number of ceramics collaborations and even partnered with Mattel to create an official Claudia Schiffer Barbie. When she’s not conquering one new enterprise after another, Schiffer is spending time with her three children and dazzling the world.

And at 54, she looks just as captivating as she ever did in her cover girl days!
