Hugh Jackman’s Most Adorably Dorky Bloopers

Right now, Hugh Jackman is having a moment. After all, he plays half of the dynamic duo in Deadpool & Wolverine, a movie that recently became the most profitable R-rated film ever made. Plus, it looks like the door might be open for future Marvel films, so Jackman may have many years of profitable work ahead of him.

To Marvel fans, Jackman will always be Wolverine, the aggressive X-Man who takes out problems with his knife hands and killer healing factor. But Jackman himself has a much softer side, and after you see him in some crazy bloopers, you may never be able to look at him the same way ever again.

Don’t believe it? Keep reading to discover Hugh Jackman’s most adorably dorky bloopers!

A cutesy little kiss

X-Men: Days of Future Past was one of the better X-Men films, and Wolverine was right at the center of it. In order to save his friends from a dystopian future, this mutant has to travel back to the past. If his mission is successful, everything that he does before the time jump will be erased and forgotten.

In the blooper below, Wolverine and Storm kiss deeply, knowing that one way or another, this might be their last chance to do so. What makes it a hilarious blooper, though, is Storm actor Halle Berry runs off screaming and Jackman mugs for the camera.

Of course, Berry and Jackson previously made out in Swordfish, so another passionate kiss was just another day at the office for these two.

When the low budget strikes back

While Hugh Jackman has acted in plenty of other projects, he is mostly known for the X-Men movies. One reason for that is that many of the other films he has starred in have been pretty bad. At least one of those movies managed to be bad in a memorable way, though, and that’s Van Helsing.

In the scene below, you can see Jackman trying to pull a prop out of its holster only for it to instantly break. First, he makes a hilarious face while describing the problem: “broke.” Then, he explains to the crew around him (and, by extension, everyone watching the special features on DVD) what the problem was: “It’s a low-budget movie!”

If the man prefers higher budgets, then he’s definitely doing the right thing by joining back up with Marvel!

Hat trick? Not quite

In retrospect, 2017 was a big year for Hugh Jackman. That was the year Logan came out, a movie many still consider the actor’s finest hour. It was also the same year that The Greatest Showman came out, and the musical-loving Jackman does a great job bringing to life the complex figure of P.T. Barnum while belting out some serious tunes.

The movies during each song were highly choreographed, including a moment where he has to kick up a hat, catch it, and walk over to costar Zac Efron. This short sequence gives Jackman quite a bit of difficulty, and he cracks up at times at his own misfortune. Fortunately, the final product was a film that every film lover would be happy to take off their own hats for in salute.

Not quite Logan in real life

As we said earlier, Hugh Jackman has become more or less synonymous with Wolverine, a badass mutant who takes no sass and knows how to intimidate just about everyone. However, the real actor couldn’t be anything less like his famous character because he is so gentle and polite. And sometimes the juxtaposition between the person and his persona can be hilarious, as illustrated by the Days of Future Past blooper below.

This was the scene where Wolverine first wakes up in the past, and in typical fashion, he instantly gets in a fight with a bunch of bad guys. Jackman is meant to jump forward while attacking, but in the blooper, he bumps into the cameraman and lets out a very demure “I’m so sorry.”

The moment helps solidify Jackman as a cool guy who cares about the crew. But watching Wolverine turn back into the actor as if a light had been switched was, admittedly, pretty damn funny!

A scene goes up in smoke

Aside from his claws and his healing factor, one of the things Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine character is most known for is chomping on cigars. That was true all the way back during the filming of X2: X-Men United. However, the bad habit backfired during one scene, with the blooper below capturing what happened when Jackman took too much smoke into his mouth.

Almost immediately, the actor begins laughing and coughing at the same time. It’s enough to make Patrick Stewart quip that “It’s funny, but it’s not that funny,” Jackman, meanwhile, tried to explain what happened: “I couldn’t have taken a bigger mouthful of smoke.”

Not done teasing his costar, Stewart said, “God, you’re such a man.” Jackman, obviously no stranger to onset riffing, responded “Such an Aussie,” a comment that made the very British Stewart quite amused.
