In fact, the trailer alone is full of so many crazy scenes that it was enough to make us rush out to theaters and see this movie on opening night.

For the Magic Mike XXL trailer, filmmakers settled for simply hinting at some of the naughtiness in the film itself.
For example, there’s a brief moment in the trailer where we see our titular hero filing down a piece of metal. Not exactly sexy, right? Normally, there’s nothing very titillating about this kind of basic workshop activity. But the trailer keeps things interesting because the metal is very clearly a metaphor for Channing Tatum’s penis, right down to the sparks symbolizing his orgasmic release.

Quick on his feet
Sometimes, movie trailers are fascinating because we only see brief glimpses of much longer scenes. And when we see a particularly wild moment in the trailer, we can’t help but imagine how it will play out in the full movie. In Magic Mike XXL, the scene that had us the most curious was one where Channing Tatum shows off how flexible he is…literally!
In the scene, Tatum looks like he is performing for Broadway rather than for the silver screen. He performs a full flip (Benson Boone style) over the bar before grabbing onto a lower rafter, continuing his swing. In this scene, Tatum looks less like an actor or dancer and more like a pirate getting ready to ward off some invaders.
Fortunately, you don’t have to walk the plank to enjoy Tatum’s killer performance!
The naughtiest dancing
These days, Sabrina Carpenter has made a name for herself through provocative live performances. It’s not her music that shocks people; rather, conservative audiences are often offended by the simulated sex acts that she brings to the stage. What does Carpenter have to do with Magic Mike XXL, though? Now that we’ve rewatched the trailer, though, we’re starting to think this movie is where Carpenter got the idea from.
You see, the trailer features a scene where Channing Tatum is practically writhing his body while hovering above someone else. This goes far beyond dirty dancing…honestly, these two look like they are about to have wild monkey sex in front of everyone. That makes their naughty moves that much sexier, especially for those harboring any fantasies about Tatum!
No shirts? No problem!
There’s no question as to why people love to watch (and endlessly rewatch) Magic Mike XXL. Sure, the plot is decent, and the movie is filmed in a fun and dynamic way. But the real attraction of the film is watching insanely buff men ditching their clothes and showing off their sexy dance moves. And the trailer prominently features one scene to tantalize audiences into instantly buying a movie ticket.
The scene in question features Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, and the rest of the sexy male actors strutting their stuff while wearing only a tight-fitting pair of blue jeans. Needless to say, their bodies are filled with muscles that practically ripple as they walk. It’s eye candy all the way down, baby.
Is this a cheap, low-brow way to get audiences to buy a movie ticket? Sure. Did it work on us, though? You bet!
The Pepi is really popping!
Understandably, most of the scenes we have focused on so far have featured Channing Tatum. After all, he’s the title character of Magic Mike XXL. But if you were a fan of the HBO vampire drama True Blood, you might be a bigger fan of his theatrical co-star, Joe Manganiello. And the trailer offers one hilarious moment that puts Joe in the spotlight.
In the scene, he’s holding a bottle of water while standing in front of a Pepsi machine. All of a sudden, he squeezes the bottle so hard that a huge stream of water shoots out. Between the arc of the water and the fact that he is rhythmically rocking his hips, it looked a lot like the True Blood star was symbolically playing with himself.
A man with a sense of humor and a killer upper body? No wonder Manganiello is so popular!
