Cowell and Lauren ended up having an affair together and things got very serious. In 2013, they announced she was pregnant, but things were a tad messy (more on this later) because she was still married to Andrew Silverman. By the end of 2013, Lauren had finally divorced Andrew Silverman, and she and Cowell welcomed their son Eric into the world on February 14, 2014.

A few years after Simon Cowell’s son was born, he faced a major health scare. In 2017, the celeb fainted and fell down the stairs. He was then rushed to the hospital where he found out that low blood pressure was what caused him to tumble. Afterward, though, he saw a doctor who told him that he would have to make significant lifestyle changes that included cutting out red meat, dairy, gluten, sugar, and wheat, all while reducing alcohol intake.
All of that came as a shock to Cowell. Nonetheless, he took the doctor’s advice to heart, and his healthy lifestyle helped him shed a whopping 56 pounds in only a year. That was enough to transform the reality TV star into a weight loss inspiration for people around the globe. As for Cowell, this healthier lifestyle meant that he could have more happy and active years raising his son.
Bonding with his son over shared activities
Simon Cowell and his son were already pretty tight growing up after the young man was born. In the years since then, though, their bond has only grown stronger. One of the reasons for that is that the two have very similar tastes and enjoy some of the same things.
