Kanye’s behavior towards Kim Kardashian has only gotten more unhinged during their bitter divorce proceedings. For example, he keeps posting texts and other personal information from Kim Kardashian in which she is pleading with him to stop saying and doing things that might put Pete Davidson (SNL funnyman and Kim’s current boyfriend) in danger.
Kanye’s mature response to that? Releasing a music video in which he kills and buries Pete Davidson, of course!
But nothing could have prepared us for the latest twist: Kanye getting into a serious relationship with Chaney Jones, a woman who looks exactly like Kim Kardashian. But who is Jones, and how did her relationship with Ye start? We’ve got all the answers you’re looking for!
Who is Chaney Jones?
Chaney Jones is 24 years old (a full 17 years younger than Kim Kardashian, if you were wondering). In addition to being an Instagram model, as Glamour reports, Jones is also very focused on her education. She studied elementary education at the University of Delaware and graduated in 2020. According to her online bio, she is currently pursuing a master’s in counseling at Wilmington University.
So far, she has been putting that education to good use, too. Jones is Chief Operating Officer for the counseling service First State Behavioral Health. To her credit, it looks like Jones has really devoted herself to transforming the lives of other people.
Of course, nothing transformed her own life quite so much as her recent whirlwind romance with Kanye West!
The uncanny resemblance to Kim Kardashian
Even if it wasn’t Kanye West dating her, it’s impossible not to see the resemblance between Chaney Jones and Kim Kardashian. In fact, the resemblance is so uncanny that many assumed that she had some kind of cosmetic procedure (or maybe more than one) to become a celebrity lookalike.
Apparently, these Kim comparisons are starting to get to Jones. TMZ reports that she made some very defensive (and now deleted) posts about this to Instagram. For instance, she wrote, “No, I have never had surgery on my face, I was born like this.”
Certain critics thought some (if not all) of the post was throwing shade at Kim Kardashian, and that may be why Jones took it down. However, it should be clear to her by now that she’s going to be getting the comparison again and again as long as she dates Kanye.

February 1, 2022: first public sighting
It usually takes celebrities a bit of time to make a new relationship official. Fittingly enough, Kanye and Chaney were spotted in public long before they made anything Instagram official.
These two were first spotted together at Soho House in Malibu at the beginning of February. The online photos triggered endless speculation about their romantic status. After all, Chaney was openly calling Kanye her “muse” over on Instagram, and the two look very happy in these photos.
On the other hand, though, Kanye flew across America the very next day to help girlfriend Julia Fox celebrate her 32nd birthday. And that puts the next entry on the timeline into context!
February 8: the open relationship revelation
Previously, Italian-American actress/model Julia Fox openly called Kanye West her boyfriend. So when photos of Ye and Chaney began circulating, many naturally asked Julia what this was all about.
While we didn’t get any official statement from Julia, someone close to her spoke about this matter to Page Six. According to the source, Kanye and Julia’s “bond transcends typical norms because they’re evolved beings who just want each other to be happy. There is no jealousy or bad vibes.”
Page Six also reported that Kanye is openly dating Jones and that Kanye and Julia are simply in an open relationship. And that would certainly explain Jones’ presence at the Donda 2 listening party in Malibu back on February 7.
By Valentine’s Day, however, Kanye and Julia split after six weeks of dating (via Page Six), making Chaney the only woman Kanye is seeing, as far as we know.
February 24: gone shopping
On February 24, Kanye West and Chaney Jones went shopping together at the Balenciaga store inside Miami’s Bal Harbour Shops before grabbing lunch together. While this seems fairly innocuous, many Kanye fans think this is another example of the singer helping to shape the look of a woman he is dating.
February 28: making it Instagram official
By the end of February, the fact that Kanye and Chaney were dating was the world’s worst-kept secret. In response, these two made things Instagram official by posting a cute selfie on Chaney’s story.
Is there a long-term future for this couple? Probably not. An insider spoke about this to Entertainment Tonight, claiming “Kanye and Chaney are seeing each other and having fun. It’s by no means a serious relationship.”
